Goodwill of Colorado is very grateful for your support, which is critically important to our mission of helping individuals achieve their greatest level of personal and economic independence. Goodwill of Colorado’s CEO Karla Grazier does not earn millions of dollars annually. Like all 501(c)3 (nonprofit) organizations, our Board of Directors determines compensation appropriate for an executive team leading a statewide organization comprised of 3,000 employees, 30+ programs and more than 50 retail stores, outlets, and standalone donation drop-offs. Like every local Goodwill organization, Goodwill of Colorado is a non-profit independent entity (meaning we do not have an owner) with its own Board of Directors and CEO.

“Goodwill is privately owned and your CEO makes millions of dollars a year” This allows us to grow our mission and direct more than 90 cents of every dollar we receive to help transform Coloradans’ lives through education, career training and job creation. Our daily color tag discounts are still in effect, as are our military and senior discounts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively.Īlso important to note is that we are dedicated to being good stewards of the items that are generously donated to us. With this system, we are able to frequently price items one-third to one-half less than the cost of a brand-new item. Each item is inspected and evaluated by our team before it is tagged and displayed on the sales floor. Our pricing is based on “good/better/best.” This refers to the brand, quality and condition of the item. That said, we have hired security at some locations to help keep our guests and team members safe. Additionally, there would be an impact on delivering our programs which last year helped 26,775 Coloradans start new careers. Like other retailers, we are always on the lookout for great talent, but as a nonprofit organization, it would be difficult to hire the number of staff that would be needed at our 42 stores to reduce the amount of theft, vandalism and drug use we were seeing in our fitting rooms.
GOODWILL ONLINE SHOPPING OREGON FREE
Of course, once we begin to process a donation it stops being free as there is a cost to accepting donations and putting merchandise on our sales floors for our guests (including similar overhead costs as for-profit retailers such as rent/mortgage, insurance, store employee wages and benefits, utilities, fuel, etc.). Your goods donations are part of a greater ecosystem that allows us to provide programs and services at no cost to your fellow Coloradans with barriers to economic and personal independence. We are deeply grateful for the donations we receive and are appreciative of the generous support of our donors.
